Poet Shanelle Gabrel visited Trinity’s Skyline Room last Friday for the Black Student Union’s poetry slam, Bringing the club’s Black History Month events to a close. The Asian Subcontinental Association celebrated the Indian Kite festival Uttarayan with traditional Indian food and kites last Friday, Feb 22. Junior pole vaulter Joey Kozak glides over the pole during last Saturday’s Track and Field meet. Representatives from the Trinity University Police Department, San Antonio Police, and the Texas Attorney General’s office offered a public service event outside the Witt Center to help raise awareness about alcohol impairment yesterday afternoon. Students had th opportunity to put on “drunk goggles,” which impair balance and perception similar to alcohol and take a tour of SAPD’s Mobile DUI Unit. The Student Ambassadors hosted Duckapalooza to help raise awareness about student philanthropy during Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day. Two hundred and twenty-five students from all classes who made a gift to the Trinity Fund had a tiger-duck placed into the Northrup acequia along with “Mama Duck” in honor of their gift to Trinity.
