Most people are ready to graduate and move on to bigger and better things. I am the person that is dreading graduation, and that is because I have loved my time here at Trinity so much — I don’t want it to end. I have learned more than I ever thought I would. I learned a lot from my textbooks, but I also learned a lot about myself. Thanks to Jennifer Jacobs Henderson, I learned how...

This past weekend saw the softball team’s last home series for the 2017 season against No. 16 ranked Texas Lutheran University. It was filled with dedication, hard work and even some tears. The Tigers struggled the first day against the TLU Bulldogs. The first game they lost 11-2 and the second 7-0. The next day they came ready to give it their all. They lost the first 9-1 but in the second they began to...

Varsity sports are not the only teams that Trinity offers. Trinity is home to 13 official club teams. Club sports have allowed students who are interested to continue playing a sport they may have played before they came to college that is not as time consuming as the varsity teams. They also allow students to try sports they have never had the opportunity to play at a less demanding level. One of these competitive teams...

This past Friday, March 31, the track and field team hosted the Trinity Invitational. Schools from all over such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Queens and Hendrix College traveled to San Antonio to compete in the meet. The Tigers took home some wins and some even broke some personal bests. “We worked really hard,” said junior Elizabeth Peters. “I felt like we were united as a team and came together to compete.”...

Despite the weather, the women’s tennis team was able to play in one of their two tennis matches this weekend. On Saturday they traveled to Marshall, Texas to compete against East Texas Baptist University (ETBU). The Tigers took home the victory 7-2. “Going into this tournament we felt very confident having played a lot of matches over spring break,” said first-year Mary Kaffen. “Our communication with each other on the doubles court was stronger than...

This past Saturday and Sunday, the softball team hit the field and played two doubleheaders against Centenary College. After severe humidity and questionable calls by the umpires, the Tigers were defeated both days by the Louisiana college. The second day, they lost 7-4 and 3-2 with ten hits, five errors in the first game and nine hits, one error in the second. “I think we played decent this weekend,” sophomore second baseman Hailey Wilson said....

A common sentiment I’ve heard is that Trinity athletes are Division I wannabes. I’ve also heard many athletes argue otherwise. Some of our athletes had the opportunity to go to a Division I or II school but they chose to play at Trinity for several reasons. “I came to Trinity knowing that I would be a part of a great baseball program with a good shot to keep playing baseball, while also having family and...

Over spring break the softball team traveled to Tucson, Arizona, to compete in the Tucson Invitational Games. Despite the heat and exhaustion of playing several games, the team played some of the best softball they have had all season. They not only walked away with a 4-2 record for the tournament, but they walked away with confidence that they can compete with other well-built teams. “I think we did really well over the spring break...
