Presidents advocate lowered drinking age

129 university leaders from across the nation stir up debate, advocating 18 rather than 21; Trinity officials oppose the suggestion
Across the United States, 129 colleges and universities have joined together to discuss lowering the drinking age to 18, in a proposal called the Amethyst Initiative. In June 2008, John McCardell, the President Emeritus of Middlebury College, spoke to a group of about 120 liberal arts colleges about the effects of the current 21-year-old drinking age.

Capital Campaign exceeds $165 million

Exact amount raised to be announced at this fall's Board of Trustee's meeting
Trinity's Capital Campaign has reached more than 80 percent of its goal, according to Corporate and Foundations Relations Officer Susan Baker, and the specific amount of money raised is to be announced by President John Brazil on Sep. 19 at the meeting of the Board of Trustees.
