After a semester of SCAC sports, Trinity is in second place in the race for the President's Trophy, the award given to the school who accumulates the most points over an entire year. Each place in the standings of any sport is worth five points, so, with 11 schools in the conference, a first place finish is worth 55 points, a second place finish is worth 50, and so on.
First in the standings is DePauw (Ind.) with 320 points on two conference championships (Women's Cross Country, Field Hockey). Trinity's second place is a result of three outright conference championships (Men's and Women's soccer, Volleyball) and one shared championship (Football, 52.5 pts.).
So far this season, the Men's basketball team (11-2, 4-1) is in second place in the SCAC Western Division with Southwestern, and the Women's basketball team (10-2, 5-0) is alone in first place in the SCAC Western. Watch for Swimming and Diving, Baseball, Softball, and Track and Field to lead the charge in the Spring with Golf and Tennis posed to have good seasons, as well.
