It really is trying to get out of bed in the mornings. There's nothing more relaxing than a Sunday staying in your bed, covered to the top and doing nothing at all, especially if your room is cold! I have a class at 8:30 in the morning, and it really costs me to get out of bed to go to class. How many of you have thought of just lying back down and skipping class? He who says no is a liar! (And no one likes liars!)
What kind of methods will help you keep that commitment of awakening and emerging from the covers? I constantly ask myself this each time I arrive late to a destination because I stayed in bed too long, and, as a result, I've decided to look up a couple of tips on the Internet on how to make waking up actually happen.
One method is the Free Will. In other words, you voluntarily get out of bed and you assume the responsibility willingly and happily to go to a very early class. Let's analyze this option. What kind of a person would get out of bed, of completely their own free will, because of an early class? We ought to find a better name for this method because I doubt there's anyone who willingly gets out of bed…and even doubt further that you'll be in a good humor.
The method of using an alarm is a classic, but it's easy to turn off. Yet, there's a way you can still make it work: Instead of putting the machine on your night stand, put it somewhere else that you'll have to walk to in order to turn off the blaring beeps. The down side: If you share your room, you might be killed by your roommate.
Other methods require an outside person, an impartial someone who will help you get out of bed. This method is usually used in I-really-need-to-get-out-of-bed-so-I-don't-miss-my-exam cases more than anything else.
Because of the particularly sunshiny mood we are likely to wake up in prior to a morning test, I doubt that this person will be willing to help for long, thus calling you on your mobile is a quick and fail-safe method. That or this neutral friend can wake you up by shaking you or throwing water on you.
In any case, why think of something so depressing? Why don't we just all go back to bed, because there's just no place like it.
