Dear Editor,

After reading the editorial in the Sept. 18 edition of the Trinitonian, I felt compelled to respond.

As the co-chair for the Ambassadors, I have seen the amount of work and heart 20 individuals put into Senior Week in order to make it feel exciting and special. Not only do these people plan a Casino Party with over 50 prizes, a Happy Hour with your favorite professors with free food and a champagne toast with a professor selected by the senior class, but last year they went one step further and moved the start of the senior festivities up with the very successful roast of Dean Tuttle.

This year, the Ambassadors want to do even better and have added three new Happy Hours (on and off campus) that will start in mid-October, and they have also upped their involvement with the Wine, Dine and Act Fine Program that is only open to seniors.

So, even with the Student Finance Board having to cut our budget by 4 percent, we have upped the number of senior-ONLY events to nine, stretching from mid-October until immediately after your last class. This summer, at a conference for College Ambassador programs nationwide, the Trinity Ambassadors took third place overall, partially due to the amazing senior programming we offer.

Out of over 300 colleges/universities (most large state schools), Trinity has one of the best programs nationwide. So, while you maintain that Trinity is keeping you from celebrating all year long, I feel it is your ignorance regarding all the senior events that keeps you from enjoying this exciting period. So, if you still feel we need more events for seniors, please feel free to attend the next Ambassador meeting and suggest an event that the Trinitonian would like to co-sponsor with us and we will get our 20 members to help in any way we can. Until then, seniors look out for more information about the upcoming Happy Hour and enjoy your senior year.
