Dear Editor,

I would like to state my anger towards the Trinitonian concerning its inability to equally represent campus activities. On Feb. 15, the Chinese Culture Club (CCC), Vietnamese Student Association and the Korean Student Association held their biggest event of the year, the Lunar New Year celebration. In order to make sure that the Trinitonian knew about this event, I sent an e-mail describing the celebration and requested that someone be present to cover it. I was fairly certain that someone took pictures and possibly interviewed a few people. However, when I opened the Trinitonian last Friday, I was upset to find that there was not a single mention of that event, not even a picture.

What upsets me even more is that three weeks ago there was a half-page photograph of another organization's meeting. And although mention of that meeting can inform students of the organization's existence, I find it highly unfair that an event which seems more important than a regular meeting appears too insignificant to the Trinitonian to receive any mention. I would also like to add that I proceeded to call the Trinitonian to see if there was a reasonable explanation for this mishap. However, the only response I received was that the Trinitonian had to make "sacrifices," and in doing so had to cut out any mention of our event. I honestly don't see this as a reasonable response. Apparently informing students that, yes, people are indeed smoking outside of Chapman is more important than covering real news on campus.
