The new film, “Sleepwalk With Me,” is garnering rave reviews from critics and moviegoers alike. However, there is another reason entirely that students should see the movie starring comedian Mike Birbiglia. It has Trinity University in it.

While shopping around for schools with the name “Trinity” in them, producer Jacob Jaffke called Trinity University.

“The name of the university in the movie was Trinity, and after calling a couple [of schools], Trinity was very game for letting us use their name, logo and colors, so we figured, well if they’re excited to do it then Trinity University of Texas it is,” Jaffke said.

What won Jaffke over for Trinity University was its excitement for the film and a few extra perks.

“It’s funny how many decisions in independent film are made based on enthusiasm (and freebies). They gave us a bunch of ‘Trinity’ props for the movie as well, which also helped,” Jaffke said.
“Sleepwalk” stars Birbiglia as himself struggling with a stalled comedic career, a stale relationship and severe bouts of sleepwalking.

The movie is currently showing for one week only at the Santikos Bijou Theater in San Antonio.

Just saw the movie here in DC. Very hilarious and added bonus to see Trinity swag everywhere. Made me a proud alum!

I pointed and whisper screamed at my boyfriend when I saw the Trinity Mug/Shirts. Thought there was an alum involved, but glad the good old alma mater has a small supporting role in this indie film.
